The Lockheed 5C Vega "Winnie Mae", in which pilot Wiley Post circumnavigated the globe in 1931. Only six examples of this important type of aircraft remain, and two of them are in the Smithsonian. The other is the plane in which Amelia Earhart crossed the Atlantic, and is located in the NASM facility on the Mall.
